    • The nearest permitted private port on the Cumberland River is located 37 highway miles from Russellville via US 79 South.

    • The R.J. Corman (RJC) Railroad Company also offers a permitted barge transloading site at Hematite near Clarksville, which is directly linked to Russellville within 42 rail miles via RJC's Memphis Short Line or accessible by truck within 43 highway miles from Russellville via US 79 South.

  • Description:  The public Port of Nashville, also on the Cumberland River, provides a navigable, all-season channel with a depth of nine (9) feet. The river links the region to intermediate points on the Ohio and Mississippi Rivers, the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway, and on to the Gulf of Mexico.
