The Annual Dinner of the Logan County Chamber of Commerce was held on Thursday, February 28 at Crossroads Church, Russellville.  Over 330 reservations were made for the event.  “This was the best attended annual dinner that I can remember,” said Lisa Browning, Chamber Director, who has been with the organization for nearly 17 years.  “We had a tremendous amount of participation from the volunteers and the membership.  It was truly a great event and we certainly thank everyone who was involved,” she added.

The main item of business for the Annual Dinner was the awards and recognition program.   Those honored included the following:  2007 Tobacco & Heritage Festival Chairperson Lisa Cropper and Co-Chair Holli Brown; Retiring Chamber Board members John Sheffield, Auburn Banking Company and John Paul Cates, Trinity Contracting; Chamber Volunteer of the Year, Rick Browning, Emerson; Chamber Ambassador of the Year, Stephanie Matthews, Matthews Construction; Teacher of the Year, Mitch Cundiff, Russellville Area Technology Center; Small Business of the Year, Robert L. Blackford Real Estate & Auction Company; Logan United Award, Mike Duncan and Nick Stamps for their work with Kentucky Changers; Corporate Recognition to Logan Aluminum; Farm Family of the Year, Gary and Aubrietta Woodall Family, and Clarence Gamble was honored for serving as 2007 Chamber President.

Not only did well over 300 people attend the event, 15 businesses and organizations set up display booths and 24 businesses and organizations sponsored tables and provided auction items.  This was the first year the Chamber had incorporated a live auction into the evening’s program.  “We were overwhelmed with the response from people wanting to sponsor a table and we were very pleased with the great quality of auction items they provided,” said Chris Milam, Chamber President.  Proceeds from the auction will be used to support Chamber programs.

The Chamber is a not-for-profit business organization, funded by membership dues and fundraisers.  For information, contact the Chamber at 270-726-2206 or www.loganchamber.com.
