Kentucky Chamber President/CEO Visits Logan County
Dave Adkisson, President/CEO of the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce, was the guest speaker at the Chamber’s Summer Membership Luncheon on June 25, sponsored by AT&T. Adkisson’s address to the crowd centered around the state’s New Agenda for Kentucky project.
The project solicited ideas from citizens throughout Kentucky. There were hundreds of submissions, from simple suggestions to very involved programs. After reviewing them all, the New Agenda Task Force selected the top 100 ideas that had the most potential to move Kentucky forward.
The New Agenda for Kentucky addresses the following five fundamental elements: 1. Preparing Kentucky to successfully compete in the global marketplace, 2. Improving the education attainment of Kentuckians at all levels, 3. Expanding Kentucky’s role as an energy leader, 4. Promoting wellness and healthy Kentuckians, and 5. Modernizing government at all levels.
